Brenda Hogan, BComm 91 has been appointed to the Board of Governors of Dalhousie University and will also sit on the Finance, Audit, Investment, and Risk Committees.
Brenda M. Hogan
Brenda M. Hogan BComm ’91 was appointed co-chair of Canadian Women in Private Equity. She is also the recipient of the 2015 Amethyst Award, which recognizes outstanding achievements by Ontario Public Servants. Brenda received the award in recognition of her work as a Senior Investment Manager with the Ontario Capital Growth Corporation for helping to transform the province’s venture capital program from one reliant on tax credits to one driven by market-based returns.

Brenda Hogan BComm’91 wonders how many Saint Mary’s alumni have rung the bell to open the TSX on Bay Street in Toronto. She had this opportunity in her capacity as a CIX Advisory Board member earlier this year and hopes this news will inspire Saint Mary’s students and recent alums who are aiming for a career on Bay Street.

In December 2013, I was promoted to VP, Corporate Controller at Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Limited in Japan. HDS is headquartered in Santa Clara California, in the heart of Silicon Valley. I started with HDS in January 2012 as a Senior Director of Corporate Accounting & Revenue Compliance. HDS competes in the enterprise storage space with EMC and NetApp and has approximately 6,000 employees worldwide.
