In a galaxy not so far away, we held our annual December film screening for our Halifax alumni. We filled an entire theatre with excited movie fans who were among the first to see the latest installment in the Star Wars universe, The Last Jedi.

We had a wonderful evening in Dhaka over the holidays this year, with over a dozen of our Bangladeshi alumni and current students in attendance, including two Canadian students visiting Bangladesh for the first time. We welcomed over 300 new graduates into our alumni family this January at our winter convocation. The ceremony included a special moment where one of our newest graduates in the Faculty of Science crossed the stage with a future alum in their arms!
The Alumni Office tie-dyed SMU Huskies Unleashed t-shirts for our many Halifax Pride Parade participants. Our float also won “best theme,” making this our second award-winning year!
We had our 41st annual golf tournament this August at Granite Springs. Our tournament was sold out again this year and we were happy to award 21 students with bursaries at the tournament.
