Saint Mary’s is doing its part to help the economy and business community amidst the COVID-19 crisis. In March, the Saint Mary’s University Entrepreneurship Centre (SMUEC) began offering free coaching and mentoring services to businesses throughout Atlantic Canada. Through a partnership with alumna and entrepreneur Shannon Byrne Susko BComm’89 BSc’92, SMUEC has been able to expand those sessions through her network of work-class coaches. “We are tremendously grateful to Ms. Byrne Susko for her help and support,” said President Summerby-Murray. “Having access to the expertise provided by her and her team will be invaluable to entrepreneurs and business leaders here in Nova Scotia.” The centre’s free programming is designed to help businesses manage through the pandemic and also provides advice on what they can do to be more resilient to future shocks.
